"Helping Hands" for Our Growing Sanctuary
Are you passionate about animals, nature, and community? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of rescued animals, assist in the growth of a sustainable farm, and immerse yourself in a peaceful, natural environment? AnimO, an animal sanctuary for exotic, wild and farm animals in Japan has bought our first piece of land nestled in a beautiful beautiful forested valley in the mountains of Chiba. We are relocating and rebuilding and we are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. We are looking for Helping Hands to live and work with us as we expand and provide care for a variety of animals!
What We Do:
At AnimO, we provide sanctuary and rehabilitation for both native and exotic animals, including those rescued from the pet trade. We will also operate a farm to grow our own food, provide lodging for volunteers, and are working to renovate and build new spaces for our growing sanctuary.
What We Need:
We are looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks, including:
Building Enclosures: Help us create safe and secure spaces for our animals, for the exotic animals, our farm animals and enclosures for the wild animals we rehab before release.
Renovating the Lodge: Assist with renovating our volunteer lodge to create a comfortable, sustainable space for our community.
Farm Work: Participate in growing crops, maintaining the farm, and caring for farm animals (not being raised for food!) including chickens, turkeys, pigs, emus and more.
Animal Care: Work directly with animals, assisting in feeding, cleaning, and providing general care for both the wildlife rehabilitation wing and farm animals.
What's In It for You?
Room and Board Provided: Stay in our volunteer lodge surrounded by the serene beauty of the mountains and forests.
Meals Included: Simple meals of rice and cooked and fresh veggies will be available daily. Once our farm is up and running you can enjoy fresh, homegrown meals, prepared with care from the food we grow on our farm.
Two Days Off Per Week: Take time to rest and explore the beautiful surroundings or simply unwind.
Animal fostering:
Volunteers are encouraged to foster a dog that's up for adoption while lodging. You can "take your dog to work," walk and feed them (food will be provided), and help them adapt to family life to get them ready for adoption.
A Unique Experience: Gain hands-on experience in animal care, farming, building, and more while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for people who are:
Hardworking and motivated: Eager to help, learn, and contribute.
Animal Lovers: You don’t need formal experience, but a deep love for animals and nature is essential.
Hands-On Workers: Comfortable with physical work, whether it's building enclosures, working on the farm, or renovating spaces.
Team Players: Willing to work with others in a collaborative, peaceful environment.
Adventurous Spirits: Ready to live in the mountains and enjoy a natural, quiet lifestyle.
How to Apply:
If you’re ready to join us and be part of something meaningful, send us a message at info@animosanctuary.org
We can’t wait to welcome you into the AnimO family and have your helping hands support our mission!
Help us create a better world for animals and be a part of something special at AnimO.
